My DK Racing stable hit the 2000 wins milestone earlier this week!
While this may be a number that Nomoos hits every 3 weeks and it may not have come with nearly as much profit as the top stables out there, I’m happy to have the 2k achievement under my belt and hoping the next 2k comes with even more profit, more fun and more friendships in the game.
Celebrating 2k with an unopened Genesis
My main goal on this Substack is to provide strategy content, so I thought why not celebrate the milestone by cracking open a Genesis horse and tracking the discovery process I use for a new horse? And at the end, once we’ve sufficiently figured out what we’ve got, we’ll do some strategic breeding and give away a few foals!
Choosing the horse
As a Zed head who is balling on a budget, we’re looking in the realm of a Buterin Genesis. It so happens that I currently own two UU Z10 Colts: Workplace Term and Southern Drawl. These things both have common coats as well, so essentially identical in every way as UUs.
Since I can’t see a world where Zed would create a monster horse named Workplace Term, there’s no way I’m running that one. I’m going to sell it instead and if it doesn’t sell, maybe I’ll give it away to Linda in HR.
So let’s do Southern Drawl. It’s got a coat color in the Moon group, where I’ve had some luck and it’s a badass name. Yeah, maybe a real Southern Drawl is slow and meandering, but maybe it’s an ironic name that means this horse is fast AF.
First step: Maiden
Since we’ve established that this horse will be a monster, I don’t want to just run it in any old Griffin. Let’s get this beast in a Maiden tournament.
Everyone should also check out the LuckyJack Maiden being hosted by Zombie Racing. I may buy a token for Southern Drawl, but frankly it seems a little steep to spend .12 eth for a shot with a Buterin Genesis (might be a better value for bred horses where you have an idea of how good they will be), so I’ll make a decision on that later on.
At the very least, I’m going to wait until the Zed Maiden kicks off on Sunday night EST.
I’ll post an update on Monday after Southern Drawl runs a Griffin and some discovery races breaking down my decision making on choosing a Griff and working through discovery.
Until then, have a great weekend!
